Our Story

We are a family business! We got our start back in the 1980s making our own hand-dipped incense and selling it year-round at farmers markets and fairs throughout the Bay Area. Guests would visit from all over for the unique selection we offered. If you ever visited those farmers markets, you likely saw us, rain or shine, in our booth with sprawling tables of incense: two parents and three rambunctious kids. Those rambunctious kids grew up to become the second generation of our family business.

From Farmers Markets to the Internet

With the advent of the internet, we expanded our reach, becoming one of the first sellers on eBay under the name Cyberincense. As the business grew, we rebranded as Soul Niche.

What We Do Today

Today we specialize in natural resin incense: frankincense, myrrh, copal, benzoin, and dozens of other resins from around the world, plus charcoal tablets, burners, and everything you need to burn them. Browse our resin incense collection.

Not much has changed in over 40 years. You won't find us at the farmers markets anymore, but we still pride ourselves on our reputation and friendly customer service, treating each guest like family. Over the years our customers have left us thousands of five-star reviews on Etsy and eBay.
